Come join the fun!!

I hope you all are having a great summer, but fortunately or unfortunately, school is right around the corner for most of you (while some are more that halfway through the quarter!?). So join us this evening at Cummings United Methodist Church at 7pm to learn more about Fall Recruitment, Ideas to spark your program, and Popcorn show and sell!!

Also, we are having a competition for who has the best unit calendar! So bring a copy of your calendar either this months roundtable or next. The winner will receive a prize! Make sure you refer to the council calendar so you don't overlap an event already in the works!!

Who had a blast at Webelos Woods!?!

This weekend was a great weekend to have FUN, Fellowship, and Friendship! Located at the beautiful Camp Daniel Boone. This year’s theme was “Fun in the Sun,” in which we had plenty of. It may have started off a bit damp but turned into a wonderful sun filled weekend. Each patrol got to spend two nights under the stars and during the days got to experience tons of awesome activities. Just to name a few fun things that they got to do: rock climbing, archery, shooting BB guns, cooking in their campsites, making up fun games to share with their Pack, went on a nature hike, and the Arrow of Lights got to do a river walk! Cycle North Carolina wants YOU!

What: 3rd Annual Cycle North Carolina Event
When: August 13 &14
Where: Brevard, NC

How can I help?

They are looking for Rest Stop Aid Volunteers. These rest stops will be positioned along the routes to offer cyclist opportunities to get off the bike, refuel, explore, and interact with local volunteers. I think this would be a great opportunity for us to get out there and show some community support!!

What you would do as a rest stop aide:

Help maintain the snacks, fruit (bananas & apples), sodas, waters, powerade and even pb&j sandwiches (not all rest stops). They Cycle North Carolina (CNC) will deliver all the supplies needed (tents, tables, snacks, drinks, etc.). They just need volunteers. Most importantly, it’s about cheering on the cyclists as they come in to the rest stops. The CNC says that participants love it when they get a chance to interact with locals and learn all about your area. So let’s show them the Scouting way and VOLUNTEER!!

Times and locations:

There are several times and locations to choose from. Find one that works for you. You can sign up for 2hr, 3hr, or 4hr time slots from 8:30am – 4pm.
