Terrora Camporee
made it in the newspaper!!!
It was an exciting time at the Terrora Camporee this
past weekend! Located at the beautiful Guion Farms in the DuPont Forrest. This year’s
theme was F*A*S*T (First Aid Skills Training) based on the tv show M*A*S*H; so
we had several different stations testing the Scouts first aid knowledge,
others relied upon teamwork and communication skills, as well as accuracy. We
even tested their knowledge of the beloved tv show- some knew it well and
others, let’s just say they learned a little bit about it this weekend!
I was excited to find that we made it into the Times-News
and on BlueRidgeNow!!
I do want to
give a big thank you to a few groups that participated in helping make this
weekend such a hit! Henderson County Rescue Squad was so great for coming out
and teaching the boys about what you all do and letting them see your vehicles.
We also had our very own National Champs OA Drum and Dance team come out to
help us with our campfire. Everyone I spoke to was so impressed with you all!
Also, thank you to all the volunteers that helped make this past weekend
possible! Lastly, I want to thank Troop 703 for dinner Saturday evening. That
was most definitely the BEST bbq I have EVER had!! Unfortunetely I didn’t get a
picture of your set up (because I was too busy enjoying the meal), however,
maybe I’ll get a picture next year. ;)
We took several photos this weekend, so take a look
to see all the fun.
Yours in Scouting,
Sarah Barnett
